Trinity River’s estate vineyard is the Gardner Ranch of Willow Creek, California. Planted in 1973-74, it has the oldest vines in Humboldt County still producing wine. It is part of the Willow Creek American Viticulture Area of Humboldt County, California. Established in 1983 , it is one to the oldest, smallest and most northern of all the AVA’s of California. We also source grapes from our neighbors in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties. All the grapes we farm are organically grown using ZERO synthetic chemicals and inputs.

Trinity River wine is true to varietal and tradition, but rare in its steep and mountainous terroir.  Their passion for sustainable agriculture and the rich history of wine, is what drives our winemaking decisions.  Grown and created in a more European style, their wines pair wonderfully with food and age beautifully.

Wilfred Franklin is the vineyard manager and winemaker for the Trinity River Vineyards in Willow Creek, Humboldt Co. California and instructor in the Wine Certificate Program at Humboldt State University. From the central coast of California in San Luis Obispo to New Jersey, he has worked as a biology professor, winemaker, vineyard manager and retailer of imported Italian, German and French wines.
