Humboldt Made Welcomes New Executive Director
Eureka, CA – Humboldt Made is excited to welcome Nick Bown-Crawford as the new Executive Director of the local business community support non-profit.
Mr. Bown-Crawford brings a wealth of experience to Humboldt Made, including food service management, special event coordination, brand development and marketing. With time spent in the hospitality sector in France, as well as, managing large operations in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Bown-Crawford is uniquely qualified to lead Humboldt Made. His skills in organizational leadership will be an enormous benefit to the Humboldt Made community.
Humboldt Made was initiated by the County of Humboldt in 2010 to spur the growth of a diverse array of makers and producers. The goal being to bring entrepreneurs together through networking and collaboration to overcome obstacles and achieve success together. By creating brand awareness and increased sales beyond Humboldt’s borders Humboldt Made builds the foundation for a sustainable, local economy. This vision grew to include events such as the Eureka Friday Night Market and other community enlivening happenings.
Mr. Bown Crawfors says, “I am thrilled to be taking the helm at Humboldt Made and excited for what the future holds. Our community is fortunate to have so many entrepreneurs and makers, I am ready to dive in and help our local businesses thrive, not only locally, but regionally and nationally.”
Mr. Bown-Crawford grew up in Arcata, before leaving Humboldt for educational and life experiences. He returned during the pandemic and has been managing local stand out baking company Natural Decadence.
Alanna Goldsmith has been the Executive Director since 2015, leading the organization through many iterations and economic challenges. The Board of Directors of Humboldt Made would like to thank Ms. Goldsmith for her service to the community and wish her well in her next endeavor.
