Ashley Vellis

Ashley Vellis is the owner and operator of Ashley’s Seafood, where she is dedicated to building a network of sustainable small fishers to serve the local community. She is actively working to develop a dockside market, creating direct-to-consumer sales opportunities for local fishermen and increasing access to fresh, locally caught seafood. Her work is driven by a passion for supporting independent fishers, strengthening Humboldt County’s seafood industry, and ensuring that high-quality, sustainable seafood is available to the region.

In addition to running her business, Ashley serves on the Humboldt County Workforce Development Board, where she helps shape policies and initiatives that support local workers and small business owners.

As a board member of Humboldt Made, Ashley brings critical insights from the fishing industry and small business sector. Her leadership and dedication to local food systems, direct-to-consumer markets, and small business development make her an invaluable asset to the organization as it continues to support Humboldt’s makers, food producers, and entrepreneurs.
