Gold Nugget Ghee exists to connect people with real and simple food that supports our health, the food system, and our planet.
What is Ghee? “Ghee is a clarified butter, made by slowly simmering grass-fed cow butter to separate the milk solids and evaporate any water. This process results in a deliciously fluffy, smooth, lactose-free oil that tastes like caramel and has a high smoke point of 482F.” This quote is from Gold Nugget Ghee founder Daniel Draskinis, who started making ghee while attending Humboldt State University. He founded the company for real in 2016 and has been providing decadent 100% organic ghee since. Today we are going to learn a little about how he got started, the benefits of eating ghee, and the ethical business practices his company employ.
How did you get started?
“I made ghee when I was at HSU and I got pushed by friends to start the business.”
What are you most proud of?
“The success we've had in a short time.”

It is fantastic for people that are sensitive to dairy, as there is no casein or lactose!”
